Job DescriptionJob Description ALARM DESIGNERJOB DESCRIPTIONJob Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform on site surveysPrepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based from working both site visits and architectural printsCalculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to endCoordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractorsModify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applicationsAssist sales department with system configuration, specification review and code applications for estimating projectsMaintain project drawing files and recordsKnowledge:High School diploma or GED is requiredConstruction experience is a plusWork Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CADAPS State of TX preferredSkills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NECAbility to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawingsAbility to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environmentStrong customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and qualityProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel as neededPhysical Requirements75% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, some lifting, walking and viewing. 25% driving AFP Alarm & Detection offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package including: Paid Holidays and VacationMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceShort-term and Long-term DisabilityLife InsuranceHealth Savings Account 401(k)We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
