Job Description

Overview

The Finishing Press Assistant at Quad is responsible for supporting the press crew by handling paper, inks, glues, and other materials to enhance the company's production processes. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and efficiency of press operations to help reduce errors and drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

  • Hang pre-printed and mill paper rolls and set up accurate splices
  • Perform washing up duties for the press
  • Conduct routine maintenance on the press
  • Set up and maintain inks and glues
  • Track and record paper consumption
  • Monitor functions of press equipment
  • Identify, retrieve, and set up various press parts
  • Maintain general housekeeping
  • Perform other incidental duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High School Diploma
  • Some press room experience
  • Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and push/pull up to 2000 pounds
  • Experience in heavy lifting and physical demands of the job
