Job Description

Overview

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is seeking a Finance Director responsible for planning and overseeing the system of grants management and compliance. This role requires an in-depth understanding of financial practices, the ability to present complex fiscal reports, and the capability to supervise finance professionals effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and organize grants management and compliance systems for the Regional Council
  • Apply Office of Management and Budget uniform guidance standards with an emphasis on administrative requirements and audit requirements
  • Prepare and present detailed fiscal reports to governing bodies and agencies
  • Supervise the development and implementation of accounting systems and procedures
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of subordinate employees in specialized finance areas
  • Foster teamwork and maintain harmonious working relationships within the Finance Department

Required skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance
  • Principles and practices of accounting and budgeting
  • Understanding of GAAP and municipal financial practices
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in finance administration including supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business finance, public administration or related field
  • Current CPA candidate and/or NC-CLGFO designation preferred
