Overview

ManhattanLife Assurance Company of America is seeking a Director of IT with expertise in FIMMAS to enhance their insurance administration systems. This role involves leading system analysis, configuration, and integration while working closely with business teams and IT to ensure stability and continuous improvement of the FIMMAS platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical lead and subject matter expert for the FIMMAS system.
  • Manage system configurations, integrations, and workflows across environments.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system issues.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and reporting solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead or contribute to system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior analysts and support staff.
  • Ensure documentation and best practices are consistently followed.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve data integrity.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with FIMMAS in a production environment.
  • Proficiency with MS SQL (data structures, scripting, optimization).
  • Strong understanding of insurance business processes and policy administration workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coordinating efforts across IT and business teams.
