Overview

T. Madison LLC dba Traffic Plan is seeking a Field Technician-Flagger to execute traffic control operations across various projects in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves installing and maintaining traffic control devices, conducting flagging operations, and ensuring the safety of both workers and the public.

Key responsibilities

  • Execute traffic control operations following company procedures and DOT specifications
  • Install, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barricades
  • Conduct flagging operations and control vehicle movement through construction zones
  • Set up and breakdown lane closures and detours according to work zone plans
  • Read and interpret traffic control plans and project drawings
  • Maintain safety awareness and react promptly to unsafe conditions
  • Communicate with motorists about detour routes and work zone guidance
  • Keep traffic control equipment organized and in good working order
  • Drive company vehicles to and from job sites as required
  • Support crew members and assist in additional tasks to ensure work zone safety

Required skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in traffic control
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and traffic control procedures
  • Dependable transportation to and from work sites
  • Ability to multitask and function well in a team-oriented environment
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Flagger certification (ATSSA or equivalent) preferred
  • Knowledge of basic safety regulations and work zone safety practices
