Overview

T. Madison LLC DBA Traffic Plan is seeking a Field Technician-Flagger to execute traffic control operations in Nashville, Tennessee. The role involves implementing safety protocols and traffic management procedures to protect both the public and workers while maintaining efficient work zones in compliance with DOT specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow directions from the Operations Manager, Supervisor, or crew lead regarding daily job assignments and worksite procedures
  • Install, maintain, and remove traffic control devices according to DOT standards
  • Conduct flagging operations and control vehicle movement through construction zones
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of lane closures, detours, and temporary traffic patterns
  • Read and interpret traffic control plans and project drawings
  • Maintain awareness of traffic movement and react to unsafe conditions
  • Inform motorists of detour routes and traffic changes
  • Keep all traffic control equipment clean and organized
  • Drive company vehicles to and from job sites
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance and provide high-level customer service
  • Support crew members and assist in additional tasks as needed

Required skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in traffic control
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and traffic control procedures
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Dependable transportation to work sites
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with DOT specifications and MUTCD guidelines
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
