Job Description

Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) within the Field Services organization. This role involves providing field support for various FAA contracts and programs primarily in ZJX airspace.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide field support for FAA contracts FTI, ADSB, DCNS, and FSG programs
  • Test and troubleshoot network and circuit setups
  • Install and maintain equipment racks and power supplies
  • Utilize network test equipment for various testing specifications
  • Collaborate with supervisors to adhere to L3Harris policies and procedures
  • Travel to FAA site locations within a 3-hour drive from Hilliard, FL

Required skills

  • Good knowledge of cable connectors and replacements
  • Experience with fiber optics and multiplexes
  • Knowledge of network topology, SONET, and ATM technologies
  • Understanding of power testing (AC and DC including 3 Phase AC)
  • Experience with T1 and DS3 testing standards
  • IP-based knowledge and experience with routers and switches
  • Ability to lift items up to 32 lbs and use ladders
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant experience or education
