Overview

Pure Power Engineering is looking for a Field Structural Engineer with on-site experience to enhance their solar engineering portfolio. This role involves extensive fieldwork evaluating structures for solar installations and working collaboratively with design teams to create accurate structural plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct frequent field site visits to evaluate existing buildings for rooftop solar installations.
  • Assess structural systems for solar capacity and feasibility.
  • Identify framing systems, load paths, and materials to support photovoltaic design.
  • Take precise field measurements and regenerate structural drawings.
  • Perform structural analysis for solar mount installations.
  • Prepare calculation packages and engineering reports for solar permit approvals.
  • Collaborate with Structural PEs and solar design teams for efficient solutions.
  • Use AutoCAD to generate structural documentation.
  • Support construction teams with RFIs and clarify structural requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients and team members.

Required skills

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with Structural focus
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification
  • 3+ years of experience in structural analysis and design
  • Extensive experience in structural field inspections and site assessments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, TEDDS, and RAM software
  • Knowledge of structural design codes (AISC, IBC, ACI, ASCE)
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% for site inspections
