Job Description

Overview

Nikon Metrology is looking for an experienced X-ray Field Service Technician to provide technical services, including installation, maintenance, and repair of their X-ray product line. The role requires extensive travel throughout North America and involves troubleshooting system failures and supporting technical sales.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform system installations, preventive maintenance, and upgrades for X-ray products
  • Troubleshoot system failures and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct product maintenance and provide software training
  • Perform in-house testing and repairs of spare parts and systems
  • Support equipment at customer locations or via remote assistance
  • Maintain assigned service equipment and submit inventory reports
  • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and service documentation in a timely manner
  • Support sales personnel and assist with equipment setup for trade shows
  • Promote service contracts and other offerings to customers

Required skills

  • 2+ years' experience in a technical role or more than 4 years' experience in a relevant position
  • Experience with complex capital equipment and subsystems
  • Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Skills in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other hand tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel over 80% domestically and internationally
