We are currently offering up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus for Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician new hires. $2,500 is payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $2,500 is payable after 180 days of employment. Job Title: Field Service TechnicianLocation: South Hill, VirginiaShift: 1stStarting Compensation Range: $26.88 - $39.07 per hour Minimum of three years' relevant heavy equipment field experience is required to be eligible for the $5,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates with less than 3 years' heavy equipment field experience are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Bonuses are made in 2 equal installments at 90 days and 180 days of employment. What You Will Do:Apply expert level troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work ordersService, diagnose and repair/rebuild all engine/components regardless of model/maker of equipment, including electrical, computers, and monitors at customer's jobsiteDisassemble, inspect and determine parts needed. Reassemble to factory specificationsInteract with customers and answer repair-related questions as required. Refer non-repair related questions to supervisorPerform heavy electrical and computer repairsInterpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance and service manuals/bulletinsInspect components removed from machines to determine their reusabilityPrepare parts requisitions, parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and formsClearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely mannerMaintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environmentPerform various other duties as assignedWhat We're Looking For:Minimum of four years' experience repairing heavy construction equipment, preferredExperience troubleshooting and diagnosing expert level mechanical repairsHigh school diploma or GED, requiredThorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly and improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairsExcellent mechanical aptitudeAbility to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machinesExcellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDLAbility to become DOT certified with DOT Medical CardWillingness to work any shift and overtime as needed to meet business and customer demandsStrong communication with excellent oral and written communication skillsSelf-direction and well organizedProficient use of technical software, databases and manualsWhat Success Looks Like In This Role: Demonstrating ability to learn and apply new knowledgeWorking independently and part of a teamPrioritizing workload while providing excellent customer serviceInteracting with customers on a professional levelPerforming well in a fast-paced work environmentWorking in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectivesPromoting a positive custom
