Overview

Yamato Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Grafton, Wisconsin. This role involves assisting customers with the installation and troubleshooting of weighing and inspection machinery, requiring significant travel and technical expertise. The technician will provide support both remotely and on-site, ensuring optimal equipment performance and operator training.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist customers with equipment installation and troubleshooting by phone or onsite.
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on sold equipment.
  • Identify and address problems during installation, involving engineering support as necessary.
  • Conduct training classes for customers and respond to their inquiries.
  • Manage complex customer projects and ensure installation suitability.
  • Travel up to 90% of the time, including weekends when required.

Required skills

  • Associate degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or 5-10 years of experience in packaging machinery installation an
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact diplomatically with customers.
  • Ability to read wiring and function diagrams.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work flexible hours.
