Overview

Astrophysics Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their team in New York, NY. This full-time role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of X-Ray security inspection systems at various customer locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, preventative, and corrective maintenance of products
  • Complete necessary service documentation and reports
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faulty equipment
  • Input and maintain data in service databases
  • Prepare equipment, parts, and documentation prior to service visits
  • Update customer and service headquarters on service call progress
  • Promote extended warranty service contracts and repeat purchases
  • Provide operator and technical training as needed
  • Offer technical phone support and documentation

Required skills

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 2-7 years technical support or field service experience
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to travel to various work sites
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
