Overview

ElectriCom Inc is seeking a Field Service Mechanic in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to provide maintenance and repair services for construction equipment used in utility operations. The role involves both shop-based and field service work, responding to equipment needs with a company-provided service truck.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on utility construction equipment including passenger trucks, directional drills, cable plows, and excavators.
  • Conduct inspections to assess equipment condition.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues.
  • Document all service, repair, and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Maintain positive interactions with employees, vendors, and customers.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems
  • Trade school graduate in diesel mechanics preferred
  • Ability to provide personal tools appropriate for the role
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
  • Ability to manage daily activity reports electronically
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions in English
