Job Description

Overview

ElectriCom Inc is seeking a Field Service Mechanic based in Indianapolis, Indiana, responsible for maintaining and repairing construction equipment used in utility operations. This includes both shop-based and field-based tasks with a focus on quality, safety, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on various utility construction equipment including passenger trucks, directional drills, cable plows, and excavators.
  • Conduct inspections to assess equipment condition and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues.
  • Replace components and complete repairs to ensure equipment is operational.
  • Maintain professional interactions with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Document all service, repair, and maintenance activities accurately.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience with diesel engines and hydraulic systems
  • Trade school graduate in diesel mechanics preferred
  • Ability to provide personal tools appropriate for the role
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Ability to complete daily activity reports electronically
  • Diagnostic skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
