Overview

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Service Engineer II (C2) in Tempe, Arizona, who will act as a critical liaison with customers by installing, maintaining, and upgrading cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role emphasizes collaboration, technical troubleshooting using digital analytics, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure the smooth operation of various systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment
  • Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems
  • Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Associate degree, military technical training, or trade certification
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer/field service support
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport for travel
