Job Description

Overview

The Field Service Engineer at United Medical Systems will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of mobile medical equipment. This role involves reporting to the Service Center or traveling to customer sites, with a focus on URS Holmium Laser units and other urological surgery devices, requiring up to 20% overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete all service training provided by UMS and respective manufacturers
  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with UMS, state, federal, and manufacturer intervals
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment per manufacturer guidelines using diagnostic equipment and tools
  • Submit all service reports, preventative maintenance records, and expense reports weekly
  • Maintain company-provided service vehicle and a working knowledge of all equipment
  • Execute field service calls and necessary work as per UMS protocols
  • Maintain 24/7 availability for communication
  • Track and order spare parts as needed

Required skills

  • 3 years of relevant experience in field service repair or engineering
  • 2-year degree in electronics or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of electronics theory and proven experience with electronics and schematics
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills using test equipment
  • Strong mechanical skills with hand and power tools proficiency
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
