While there are administrative and applicant follow-up responsibilities, the heart of this role is being out in the community, talking to people and making connections.If you're outgoing, approachable, resourceful, and aren't afraid to start a conversation with someone you've never met, we want to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing Get Out Into the CommunitySpend time throughout Fairfax County identifying places and opportunities to connect with potential School Crossing Guards. Start ConversationsTalk with people at community events, libraries, local businesses, senior centers, community organizations, and other gathering places. You'll need to be comfortable introducing yourself and explaining why becoming a Crossing Guard is a great way to serve the community. Spread the WordFind creative ways to get our hiring message in front of local residents. Distribute recruiting materials, develop community contacts, attend events, and look for new outreach opportunities. Build Community RelationshipsDevelop genuine connections with organizations and individuals who can help us reach people interested in giving back to their community. Find Our Next Crossing GuardsTalk with prospective candidates, answer questions, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and help guide qualified candidates through the recruiting process. Represent ACMS at Hiring EventsHelp organize and attend open interviews, job fairs, community events, and other local recruiting activities. Keep Things OrganizedDocument your outreach and candidate activity, maintain accurate recruiting records, complete required paperwork, and communicate regularly with the National Recruiting Manager and local Operations team.
