Overview

The Field Airborne Support Team Avionics Tech IV at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is a field role that involves extensive travel and on-call availability for performing operational, functional tests, and repairs on avionics and aircraft systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure quality and efficiency in aircraft servicing.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform operational and functional tests on avionics and aircraft systems
  • Provide training and support to personnel for cross-training goals
  • Be available on-call for expedited support within two hours of contact
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise assigned FAST Technicians
  • Oversee installation and functional testing of avionics components
  • Ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection requirements
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and provide updates on aircraft status
  • Complete work order sign-offs, logbook entries, and expense reports in a timely manner
  • Enforce safety regulations and quality standards

Required skills

  • 6 years of avionics/electrical experience or 2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics with 4 years of rel
  • A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred
  • Proficiency in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of company policies, Repair Station and QC Manual
  • Self-inspection capability for avionics testing functions
  • Preferred proficiency in other aircraft systems such as hydraulics and flight controls
