Job Description

Overview

The Field Airborne Support Team Avionics Tech IV at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is a remote position requiring 100% travel. The role involves on-call support for avionics and electrical systems on aircraft, ensuring quality repairs and compliance with safety standards. Candidates should be prepared to be dispatched within two hours of contact and will lead and train other technicians.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform operational and functional tests of avionics and electronic systems
  • Supervise and coach FAST Technicians as needed
  • Ensure defect-free installations and repairs of avionics components
  • Communicate effectively with customers, flight crews, and management
  • Conduct training for personnel and support cross-training goals
  • Complete work order sign-offs and documentation in a timely manner
  • Enforce safety regulations and company programs
  • Provide regular updates on aircraft status to management

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 years of experience in avionics/electrical field or 2 years accredited schooling with 4 years related experience
  • A&P license, FCC license or NCATT certification preferred
  • Proficiency in avionics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Communication skills
  • Self-inspection capability for avionics testing functions
  • Formal training in Gulfstream product line maintenance preferred
