Overview

WAVSYS is seeking a Fiber Technician in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The role focuses on quality assurance and compliance in OSP construction, ensuring projects adhere to specifications and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of OSP construction sites for compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate construction activities and materials for adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify deviations from approved plans and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols on construction sites.
  • Identify safety hazards and work with teams to implement corrective measures.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience in OSP construction inspection, preferably in telecommunications
  • Thorough knowledge of OSP construction standards and safety regulations
  • Familiarity with fiber optic network infrastructure and installation techniques
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and documentation software
  • BICSI OSP Technician certification or equivalent is desirable
