Overview

CSL CONNECT is seeking motivated and reliable Fiber Optic Technicians for drop and bury installations in the Summerdale, Alabama area. This role involves installing, burying, and securing fiber optic cables, operating heavy equipment, and troubleshooting connectivity issues in compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, bury, and secure fiber optic cables using hand and power tools
  • Operate heavy equipment such as trenchers for cable installation
  • Perform fiber splicing to connect and test fiber optic lines
  • Use telecommunications and network testing equipment to troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed

Required skills

  • Experience with fiber optics installation
  • Knowledge of cable splicing and OTDR testing
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with LAN and WAN troubleshooting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
