Overview

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a Family Services Case Manager to provide comprehensive case management services to clients and families. This role involves building relationships with families, developing case plans, conducting assessments, and ensuring regular documentation and compliance with court requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Accept and manage all assigned cases from the unit supervisor
  • Conduct family assessments within stipulated timelines
  • Develop and negotiate case plans collaboratively with families and other parties
  • Perform regular visits to children in their homes and maintain documentation
  • Facilitate court documentation and participate in court activities
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide timely referrals
  • Conduct safety and family functioning assessments as needed
  • Transport children and provide supervision as necessary
  • Adhere to confidentiality and safety standards
  • Attend required training and meetings

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field; Social Work preferred
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience working with children
  • Child welfare certification within one year of hire
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate auto liability insurance
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population
