Overview

Inspire Healthcare is seeking a Family Practice/Primary Care Physician Assistant to join their established team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Physicians in Salem, Oregon. The role involves providing high-level patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with an emphasis on oncology. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by managing patient care, conducting examinations, and assisting with treatment plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate and examine new patients
  • Manage patients undergoing treatment and monitor post-treatment care
  • Perform physical examinations and obtain medical histories
  • Instruct and counsel patients on treatment regimens
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies
  • Prescribe and refill medications and oncology treatments
  • Document patient care services in records
  • Round on patients in the hospital
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies as trained
  • Manage chemotherapy and immune therapy toxicities
  • Participate in advanced care planning

Required skills

  • National certification as ANP, FNP, GNP or PA-C
  • Current DEA license preferred
  • Strong technical/computer skills
  • EMR experience
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Willingness to learn oncology for new APPs
