Job Description

Overview

The Family Practice/Primary Care Physician Assistant role focuses on supporting the Cardiac EP team in overseeing remote cardiac device monitoring. The successful candidate will interpret and manage data from various implantable cardiac devices and respond to clinical alerts to initiate patient care actions.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the clinical oversight of remote cardiac device monitoring
  • Interpret and manage scheduled and unscheduled transmissions from implantable cardiac devices
  • Analyze cardiac device data and evaluate clinical alerts from remote monitoring programs
  • Review and sign billable remote interrogations
  • Manage clinical alerts and initiate patient care actions when appropriate
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and work independently as needed

Required skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology, specifically electrophysiology or heart rhythm management
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac devices and remote monitoring platforms (e.g., CareLink, Latitude, Merlin)
  • Proficiency in rhythm interpretation and clinical decision-making related to arrhythmias and device therapy
  • National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
  • Prior experience in a remote monitoring or device clinic role is preferred
  • Familiarity with reviewing device reports and diagnostic trends (Cardiac Compass)
