The Maine Divorce Group is a client-focused family law firm committed to delivering exceptional service. They are seeking a skilled Family Law Paralegal to join their growing team in a hybrid role, balancing in-office and remote work. The ideal candidate will support attorneys with various tasks, requiring strong organizational skills and proficiency with legal technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage scheduling for court dates, mediations, client meetings, and critical case deadlines
  • Open and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
  • Prepare, draft, and format family law documents such as pleadings and motions
  • Manage discovery processes, including tracking deadlines and organizing document production
  • File legal documents with courts, including eFiling systems
  • Communicate with clients professionally and empathetically
  • Track and record billable time accurately
  • Utilize Mac OS, Google Workspace, and MyCase
  • Support attorneys in case preparation and execution of legal strategy

Required skills

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a family law firm
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program
  • Expertise with Mac Operating Systems and Google Suite
  • Legal research and writing skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
