Overview

The Fair Banking Officer at American Riviera Bank is tasked with developing and managing the Fair Lending Program, ensuring compliance with fair lending laws and ethical practices across various financial products. This role includes monitoring compliance programs and advising management on fair lending risks and issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the Bank's Fair Lending Policy and Program.
  • Develop and implement monitoring routines for the Fair Lending Program.
  • Perform analyses to detect potential discrimination and identify trends.
  • Lead fair lending risk assessments and maintain applicable documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Regulation B, HMDA, Fair Housing Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to Bank staff on fair lending practices.
  • Prepare and present reports to Board and senior leadership.
  • Assist in new product initiatives to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct file audits and UDAAP marketing compliance reviews.
  • Represent the Bank with integrity and professionalism.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business administration, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in a compliance role with expertise in fair lending
  • Comprehensive understanding of fair lending laws and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Proficiency in fair lending analytics and GRC software
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CRCM) preferred
