Job Description

Overview

NY CREATES is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician for the night shift to support the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems in a high-tech semiconductor R&D environment. This role is essential for maintaining the reliability and performance of systems that support office, laboratory, and cleanroom operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC and mechanical operations and maintenance on systems supporting cleanroom and office operations
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and follow lock-out tag-out protocols
  • Manage inventory and maintain facility operating system document control
  • Monitor and respond to facility reporting alarms and controls
  • Balance systems and maintain boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, and air handling units
  • Understand related disciplines such as process, waste, and water treatment and building automation
  • Provide attention to customer satisfaction and support
  • Work independently and cover off-shift responsibilities as needed
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned

Required skills

  • EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification
  • Technical trade degree or equivalent experience in HVAC
  • 5 years of related mechanical work experience or 8 years in HVAC
  • Ability to pass a physical exam and fit test for Emergency Response Team certification
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer maintenance management programs
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (Siemens, Honeywell) and PLCs (preferred)
