Job Description

Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Micron Products is responsible for supporting quality assurance and metrology functions to ensure products meet specifications. This role entails analyzing processes, identifying defect root causes, and collaborating with various teams to drive continuous improvements and comply with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies and serve as a role model in policy interpretation and customer service.
  • Provide training on Good Documentation Practices and Micron Quality System requirements.
  • Set up and operate inspection/metrology equipment, including CMMs and Vision Measurement Systems.
  • Establish measurement methodologies and create inspection work instructions.
  • Schedule and manage measurement and measurement system analysis activities.
  • Support manufacturing, product development, and project teams with metrology input.
  • Document and analyze production and statistical data to meet quality expectations.
  • Assist in developing measurement qualifications for validation plans.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or 5 years in a Metrologist role
  • Medical device manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proficient in CMM operation and programming (3-5 years with Hexagon PC-DMIS)
  • Strong understanding of metrology and statistical analysis, including SPC
  • Knowledge of plastics injection molding and metal manufacturing
  • Understanding of drawing interpretation and GD&T
  • Proficient in Vision Measurement System operation
  • Experience with ERP systems (IQMS preferred)
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA CFR 820 regulated environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab
  • Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
