Facilities Engineer - JLL What this job involves: The Facilities Engineer is an advanced skilled professional responsible for performing comprehensive building operations, maintenance, and repairs across multiple commercial building systems. This role demands hands-on technical proficiency with specialized electrical expertise to maintain critical infrastructure at peak operational condition. You will serve as a technical leader, mentoring team members while executing complex repairs on HVAC equipment, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and building automation systems. This position is essential to delivering exceptional facility operations that directly support JLL's commitment to creating transformative solutions for our clients' real estate portfolios. What your day-to-day will look like:Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant equipment including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, and critical building infrastructure while responding to building automation system alarmsTroubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, motors, pumps, valves, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment using industry standard tools and test equipment in accordance with all applicable codesPerform preventive maintenance and repair service work on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and various other building systems to ensure properties remain in peak operational conditionRead and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment schedules to support troubleshooting and system modificationsEvaluate, train, teach, and coach Operating Engineers and Maintenance Technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship on building systems operationsDocument maintenance activities through CMMS work order processing, equipment rounds, inspection reports, and compliance tracking to maintain comprehensive operational recordsCollaborate with property management, security teams, facilities staff, and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure seamless building operations Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED with minimum 5 years of building operations and maintenance experience in commercial building environmentsDemonstrated hands-on proficiency with electrical systems maintenance, HVAC systems, central plant operations, and building automation systemsTechnical knowledge of electrical theory, power distribution, motor controls, three-phase systems, and applicable mechanical and electrical codes, laws, and regulations Preferred Qualifications:10+ years of building operations experience in commercial buildings with high school vocational degree program or apprenticeship completionAdditional certifications in building automation systems or specialized mechanical/electrical systemsExperience with energy management and building operations optimization strategiesValid electrician's license, electrical journeyman certification, or documented electrical experience (as required by local jurisdiction) and EPA Universal CertificationAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical system drawings, schematics, and equipment specificationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, web-based applications, CMMS systems, and handheld electronic devicesPhysical ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights, climb ladders, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, squatting, standing, and reachi
