Job Description

Overview

The Facilities Director at The Retreat at Ladys Island will oversee facilities management operations, ensuring maintenance, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role includes responding to emergencies and managing service requests while coordinating with contractors and vendors.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead facilities management operations including maintenance, housekeeping, and security
  • Supervise minor repairs and maintenance tasks within the facility
  • Respond to building emergencies and direct response efforts
  • Monitor and evaluate maintenance requests to ensure timely responses
  • Inspect building façade for damages and coordinate repairs
  • Oversee HVAC system management for air quality and temperature control
  • Manage monthly expenses and budget data submission
  • Provide technical training to other communities as needed
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage the facilities department staff
  • Conduct regular meetings and collaborate with the Executive Director

Required skills

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two years supervisory and management experience
  • Three years facilities experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Knowledge of fire & life safety regulations and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to multi-task and manage stress
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service orientation
