Job Description

Overview

The Export Control Manager at SHD Composite Materials will lead and coordinate export control compliance across global manufacturing operations, supporting product development and customer engagement for advanced composite materials. This critical role will work closely with a UK/EU counterpart to ensure a cohesive export control program amidst various regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute export and import compliance strategies.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for classification and licensing requirements.
  • Coordinate with UK/EU export control counterparts for consistency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to manage export control risks.
  • Lead contract and customer review processes for compliance.
  • Establish and maintain technology control plans and audit mechanisms.
  • Oversee export licensing and regulatory filings as required.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to non-compliance.
  • Deliver training and guidance on export control obligations.
  • Monitor changes in export control regulations and update policies.
  • Oversee supply chain compliance requirements.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; technical background preferred
  • 5-8+ years of export control experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and global trade compliance frameworks
  • Experience managing export compliance across regions (U.S. and UK/EU)
  • Proven collaboration skills across international teams
  • Experience with export licensing, classification, and regulatory interpretation
  • Strong communication and training capabilities
  • Experience with compliance audits, investigations, and corrective actions
  • U.S. Citizenship required for regulatory compliance
