Overview

Location: Dallas, TX Position Title: Expert Manager, Data Science (DAL-EMDS-2026A(2)i) Job Description: Work with consulting teams and clients to understand business problems, translate them into data science projects and appropriately prioritize and execute. Translate business objectives into data and analytics solutions and, translate results into business insights using appropriate data engineering and data science applications. Help develop Data Science and Machine Learning intellectual property and identify areas of new opportunity for data science and analytics for Bain and its clients. Ensure standards and guidelines are being used by team to develop re-usable common frameworks, model and components that address repeatable tasks and problem/data sets in specific industries or business functions. Share learnings and drive adoption of best demonstrated practices with teammates in AIS about theoretical and technical developments in the rapidly evolving data science field. Keep abreast of new and current data science techniques and technologies. Act as PD Advisor for a team of 3-5 Data Scientists. Lead recruiting and onboarding of team members as needed. Position is in a fixed location based in the Dallas, TX office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. Travel required up to 3 days every other week. Multiple Positions Available. Job Requirements: Requires a Masters degree in Math, Statistics, Econometrics, Information Sciences, or a directly related quantitative field plus five (5) years of experience in analytics. Experience must include: - One (1) year of experience managing data scientists. - Leading and collaborating on strategic initiatives. - Knowledge of probability distributions. - Deep statistical foundation and knowledge of statistical learning theory. - Experience with Causal inference and latent variable models. - Experience with linear models and extensions, unsupervised dimensionality reduction and clustering methods and tree-based methods. - Proficiency in Python or R. - Proficiency in SQL. - Familiarity with usage of common predictive ML models in classical machine learning. - Applying data and research to test business hypotheses and mixing statistical techniques and 80/20 heuristics. The employer will accept a Bachelors degree plus seven (7) years of experience in analytics in lieu of Masters degree plus five (5) years of experience. Telecommuting from home office may also be allowed. Travel required up to 3 days every other week. Multiple positions available.
