Overview

KDM MACHINE INC is seeking an experienced Mazak Machinist to join their team in Anaheim, California. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Mazak CNC machines and a strong background in precision machining to produce parts that meet tight tolerances and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain Mazak CNC machines (MTV, FJV, SVC, QTN, Integrex, Variaxis or similar)
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files for accurate production
  • Program machines using Mazatrol or G-code as needed
  • Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments for quality and efficiency
  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Comparator, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize processes
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

Required skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a machinist with 3+ years on Mazak CNC equipment
  • Proficiency in Mazatrol programming; familiarity with EIA/ISO programming is a plus
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and materials (aluminum, steel, titanium, plastics)
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with multi-axis machining (3-, 4-, or 5-axis) preferred
