Overview

Harnden Construction Services, part of The H&K Group, is seeking an experienced laborer to join their crew in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This role primarily involves performing various construction tasks in a utility capacity, requiring teamwork and adherence to safety protocols while working under direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Acquire tools needed for daily operations
  • Measure distances from grade stakes and drive stakes
  • Signal operators of construction equipment for alignment and movement
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Mix and finish freshly poured concrete
  • Position and seal pipe sections
  • Erect scaffolding and braces
  • Assist with pre-run markings and operate paving equipment
  • Prepare pipes for connection and ensure proper pipe slope

Required skills

  • One month of related experience and/or training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical skills for computations and graph interpretation
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems
  • Fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Physical ability to meet the role's demands
