Overview

The Executive Director at Alpas Wellness NOVA in Sterling, Virginia, is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the outpatient facility. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care while driving operational excellence and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the facility, including clinical, medical, admissions, and administrative functions
  • Establish and maintain a high-performing treatment team
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care aligned with organizational standards
  • Monitor clinical KPIs related to patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance and maintain accreditation standards
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality staff
  • Promote a mission-driven culture and facilitate professional development
  • Drive sustainable census growth and build relationships with referral sources
  • Maintain full responsibility for site-level financial performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Independent clinical licensure in Virginia (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, PhD)
  • 7-10 years of experience in behavioral health or healthcare operations
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience overseeing PHP, IOP, or similar levels of care
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Deep understanding of behavioral health operations and clinical workflows
  • Expertise in regulatory and accreditation standards (VADBHDS, Joint Commission, HIPAA)
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets
