Overview

Aramark Sports & Entertainment is looking for an Executive Chef to manage culinary operations at the University of Iowa Athletics. This role includes overseeing culinary staff, ensuring quality food production, and maintaining high service standards while developing solutions that meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee culinary operations and manage a team of chef managers and hourly staff
  • Develop and execute culinary solutions to meet customer tastes
  • Ensure compliance with operational excellence standards including food quality and safety
  • Maintain effective client and guest rapport for business relationships
  • Train and manage kitchen staff on best practices for food production
  • Monitor food and labor targets for margin improvement
  • Ensure accuracy in food consumption estimates and requisitions
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure operational safety standards

Required skills

  • 4 years of culinary experience
  • 2 years in a management role preferred
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
  • Strong oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and simplify agendas
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Flexible schedule availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
