To be successful, the ideal candidate has strong experience in event catering, is a creative and innovative chef ready to push the boundaries of conventional events and has developed leadership qualities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeveloping, costing, and executing unique and innovative custom menusCollaborating with the Sales Team to set menu pricesManage client relationships while ensuring customer satisfaction and alignment with cultural expectations.Staying current on developing trends in the Food & Beverage/Catering industryMaintaining the kitchen and surrounding areas in conditions that meet Proof of the Pudding standards and health code regulationsMonitoring inventory and purchasing supplies and food from approved vendorsExecution of events and food service while maintaining the highest level of food quality and presentationCapable of producing a consistent product in a high-volume environmentAssist in the development and implementation of creative menu items that adhere to Proof of the Pudding standardsCreating and maintaining the overall morale of the kitchen and culinary teamAssist with the hiring and training of culinary team membersSchedules Staff and food production in accordance with the demands of businessLead weekly BEO meetings to ensure effective communication across all departments; sales, operations, culinary, and managementOversee and coordinate client tastings, staff lunch, on-site mixers, and other events as neededManage and oversee coinciding events including, but not limited to coordinating food prep, distribution, and on-site executionContinuous updating and innovating of menus including but not limited to holiday menus, wedding menus, social/corporate event menus, etc.Manage and control food costs, labor expenses, and waste to maximize profitability.Performs other related duties as needed.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:4+ years in a leadership/supervisory culinary roleExpert knowledge of a range of cuisines and cooking techniquesMust have impeccable integrity for the business, the community and our Proof of the Pudding TeamPossess the necessary qualities of self-motivation, desire to learn, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, demanding, and collaborative environmentPossess the necessary interpersonal skills and demeanor for maintaining a safe, equitable and inclusive work environmentSpecialized Qualifications:Proven experience building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.Excellent listening and communication skillsProven time management and delegation abilitiesCapable of producing a consistent product in high volume for multiple service times per dayCompany Core Value and Competency Requirements:Business Acumen - Demonstrate comprehension of the job, including policies, practices, and relationships.
