Overview

Meriwether Godsey is seeking an Executive Chef to lead a high-volume food production program and manage catering for a college preparatory school in Middleburg, VA. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong culinary management skills and a commitment to promoting diversity within the culinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage high-volume food production and high-end catering services
  • Communicate daily with production staff and oversee food production activities
  • Develop menus and purchase ingredients with a focus on local and organic products
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain proper food storage practices
  • Lead and mentor team members while fostering an inclusive work environment
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships and conduct price research
  • Implement HACCP standards and maintain food safety protocols
  • Participate in financial planning and budget management for the dining program

Required skills

  • Associate's Degree or 5+ years of related food service experience
  • Experience in Contract Food Service Operation and High-End Catering Management
  • Knowledge of current food trends and sustainable practices
  • Strong leadership and participative management style
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Account and project management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety (HACCP) and sanitation standards
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification preferred
