Overview

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 4 to lead culinary operations at Yale New Haven Hospital, focusing on high-quality patient and retail dining services. This role combines administrative leadership with hands-on culinary oversight in a high-volume healthcare environment, working closely with a team of up to 100 union employees to ensure operational efficiency and food safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality patient and retail meals that meet Sodexo standards
  • Maintain adherence to HACCP, ServSafe, and regulatory standards
  • Lead and develop a team of managers and frontline employees
  • Manage operations in a union environment, with a focus on team engagement
  • Oversee food and labor costs, inventory, procurement, and contract compliance
  • Drive efficiency across patient services and retail operations
  • Partner with hospital leadership to achieve strategic goals

Required skills

  • 5+ years of administrative leadership experience in healthcare culinary operations
  • Experience managing large, unionized teams
  • Strong background in high-volume food service operations
  • Expertise in food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
