Job Description

Overview

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 3 to lead culinary operations at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. This role involves overseeing menu planning, budgeting, inventory management, and fostering client engagement while ensuring adherence to culinary standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage daily food production for residential dining, retail, and catering
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe adherence and food quality
  • Oversee food costing, financial controls, and department budgets
  • Develop creative, cost-effective menus and manage inventory processes
  • Build strong client and customer relationships through active engagement
  • Lead, train, and develop culinary staff while promoting a positive work environment
  • Support catered events through menu development, planning, and execution
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and allergen management
  • Utilize or learn the Sodexo Food Management System

Required skills

  • Culinary expertise and progressive culinary background
  • Experience in a high-volume dining or hospitality environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team development skills
  • Business and financial acumen including food costing and inventory management
  • Knowledge of special diets and allergen protocols
  • Ability to train and develop staff while upholding standards
