Overview

The William Penn Inn is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead its culinary team in a historic dining destination in Ambler, Pennsylvania. This role involves overseeing kitchen operations, menu development, and staff management while maintaining the high standards of quality and service that the inn is known for.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute seasonal and special event menus
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including food production and service flow
  • Ensure consistent quality, portion control, and presentation of menu items
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff
  • Manage food and labor costs to meet budget goals
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors for ingredient sourcing
  • Collaborate with management and event teams for menu coordination
  • Monitor inventory and place orders to maintain stock levels
  • Stay current with culinary trends to enhance the guest experience

Required skills

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as an Executive Chef or senior-level Sous Chef
  • Experience in upscale or fine dining environments with annual sales of $5 million or more
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proven track record in menu development and cost control
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume settings
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Banquet experience in high-volume operations is a plus
