Job Description

Overview

The Event Technology Specialist at NAFSA provides comprehensive support and administration for the event technology platforms utilized for both virtual and in-person events. This role focuses on system optimization, user experience enhancement, and collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure the successful execution of NAFSA's events.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead annual systems setup for regional conferences and support implementation of new features.
  • Modify process workflows and optimize user experience and data capture protocols.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for event technology needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and training materials on supported systems.
  • Coordinate testing and provide orientation for new systems to end users.
  • Collaborate with decision makers to define business and operational requirements.
  • Convey NAFSA's needs to vendors and hold them accountable for successful implementations.

Required skills

  • Associate's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years in IT Help Desk or end-user support for web-based applications.
  • Experience supporting end-users of web-based software applications.
  • Strong communication skills to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various software applications.
  • Project management and vendor management experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with event technology tools like cadmiumCD, Cvent, and Zoom.
