Overview

VISION RESTORATION & BUILDING CO. is seeking an experienced Estimator for their growing residential property restoration team in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management and be detail-oriented and organized, playing a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates and maintaining vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare work by gathering information and requirements
  • Discuss claims process and contract terms with customers
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates
  • Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders
  • Ensure timely completion of estimates
  • Understand scope of work to bid
  • Prepare cost analysis
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
  • Prepare construction budget by studying home plans and updating specifications
  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Enhance professional knowledge through workshops and publications
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results

Required skills

  • 3+ years' experience in construction estimating
  • Experience with insurance providers and TPAs
  • Ability to read architectural plans
  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365, Dash, Xactimate
  • Impeccable problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and organized
