Job Description

Overview

The Estimator at Unistress Corp is responsible for completing accurate project take-offs and preparing cost estimates for manufacturing and field work on various construction projects. This critical role supports the company's revenue generation plan by ensuring profitability through effective analysis of project documentation and collaboration across teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze project drawings and specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Monitor special considerations and establish setup costs with manufacturing.
  • Maintain and update project documentation within the Sales & Estimating system.
  • Communicate with the sales lead to understand project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to formulate and resolve estimate-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers on cost estimates and adjustments.
  • Identify and clarify project risks.
  • Prepare documentation for turnover meetings and bid efforts.
  • Perform sales drawing activities using CAD and REVIT.
  • Support the overall company sales initiatives.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in estimating or construction design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Strong math skills for volume and quantity calculations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Effective communication and organization skills.
  • Experience in the precast/prestressed concrete industry preferred.
  • On-site construction experience is a plus.
