Job Description

Overview

New River Electrical Corporation is seeking an Estimator for an on-site position in Goodyear, Arizona. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing contract documents to create detailed estimates for various electrical projects and will report to the Estimator Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

  • Review project plans and specifications to confirm scope
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits
  • Identify risk issues and solicit subcontractor pricing
  • Perform detailed takeoffs of labor, materials, and equipment
  • Manage the flow of bid information among stakeholders
  • Create scope letters and quotes, and follow up on proposals
  • Support project managers during pre-construction phase
  • Assist senior estimators on large project estimates
  • Prepare and submit accurate bid proposals and documentation

Required skills

  • Minimum 5 years of electrical and/or civil estimating experience
  • Utility construction experience preferred
  • Familiarity with materials and equipment take-off process
  • Strong mathematical and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to create complex proposals and technical documents
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Understanding of contract pricing mechanisms and construction drawings
