Overview

Diversified Labeling Solutions is seeking a Label Estimator to join their team in Itasca, Illinois. The role involves providing estimating support by reviewing customer quote requests, entering data into the ERP system or Excel calculator, and developing strong customer relationships through exceptional service. The estimator will be responsible for creating accurate price estimates based on job specifications in the label printing industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop accurate labor hour and material dollar estimates based on specifications
  • Determine appropriate margin considering market variables
  • Enter data into the ERP system accurately, adhering to corporate standards
  • Document work specifications to ensure proper manufacturing procedures
  • Send completed price quotes to customers, addressing any special requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer and company needs promptly
  • Collaborate with internal departments to validate necessary information
  • Recommend raw material substitutions and provide samples as needed
  • Communicate with material vendors to find optimal solutions for customers
  • Utilize Excel for multi-item quotes, creating reports and departmental needs

Required skills

  • Flexographic/digital label estimating experience
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables, and macro creation
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in math and calculations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for professional interactions
  • Problem-solving skills to assist internal teams
