Overview

Building Team Solutions is seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator for commercial plumbing construction projects in the Austin area. This role offers a leadership opportunity with a direct path to senior leadership responsibilities, allowing the individual to influence company growth and participate in strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate bid invitations for commercial plumbing projects
  • Analyze scope, schedule, manpower, and project feasibility
  • Determine strategic fit and likelihood of award
  • Communicate directly with general contractors and clients
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Review plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Identify scope gaps, errors, and constructability issues
  • Solicit and analyze vendor and supplier pricing
  • Submit accurate and complete proposals on time
  • Own the estimating process and project pipeline
  • Collaborate with Operations and Design teams on manpower planning and execution
  • Support project handoff and ongoing cost management
  • Contribute to business strategy, growth planning, and operational decisions

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in commercial plumbing
  • Minimum 5 years of field experience in commercial plumbing or leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems and construction methods
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Proficiency in Excel and estimating software
  • Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills
