Overview

As an Estimator at Gilson Graphics, you will play a crucial role in assisting the sales team to secure repeat and new projects by accurately calculating job cost estimates and understanding production requirements. This position requires effective communication with various teams and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability.

Key responsibilities

  • Calculate accurate job plan cost estimates for labor and materials
  • Review customer and sales specifications and requirements
  • Maintain a balance between profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Advise on alternatives in materials or production methods
  • Make recommendations for upgrading standards based on technology changes
  • Communicate requirements to vendors for materials and services
  • Develop project planning estimates utilizing equipment and capabilities
  • Effectively communicate with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and management
  • Refer to previous job cost reports to identify future project improvements
  • Read and interpret information from job tickets and layouts

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Print Management or two years of experience
  • Minimum of two years in Print Management
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills with diverse individuals
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Familiarity with commercial printing equipment and prepress processes
  • Knowledge of printing substrates, inks, and coatings
