Job Description

Overview

As an Estimator at Gilson Graphics, you will play a crucial role in helping the sales team retain and win projects by accurately calculating job costs and bridging production requirements. You will be part of the Estimating department, ensuring profitability while meeting customer needs and exploring new technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Calculate accurate job plan cost estimates for labor and materials
  • Review customer and sales supplied specifications and requirements
  • Maintain balance between profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Advise on options for materials or production methods
  • Make recommendations for upgrading standards based on technology
  • Communicate requirements to vendors for materials and services
  • Develop project planning estimates utilizing equipment and capabilities
  • Effectively communicate with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and management
  • Refer to previous job cost reports to improve future projects
  • Read and interpret information from job tickets and layouts
  • Collaborate within a team in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Print Management or two years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of two years in Print Management
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of commercial printing equipment and capabilities
  • Experience with prepress offset and digital printing
  • Understanding of large format printing and finishing processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
