Job Description

Overview

The Estimator at Kiely Family of Companies will be responsible for preparing bid cost estimates for utility work in the gas, water, and sewer sectors, and managing these projects throughout construction. This role involves collaborating with clients, contractors, and third-party providers to ensure accurate and timely project execution within the company's commitment to quality and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare bid cost estimates and proposals for utility projects
  • Review bid documents and clarify project requirements
  • Produce estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid platform and MS Excel
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and communication plans
  • Generate RFIs for project clarification
  • Maintain organization of project information
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure agreements are executed
  • Provide timely and accurate material take offs

Required skills

  • College degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
  • Five years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Strong knowledge of project specifications for utility infrastructure
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
  • Experience with estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid
  • Strong MS Excel skills and understanding of the utility industry
